In recent years, due to the shallow seismic , geological strata probing , in-depth study of its submarine navigation and communication technology , the need to learn more about the ultra-low frequency band of radio wave propagation characteristics of extremely low frequency (SLF-ELF) ELF band depth learning , in-depth study of very low frequency radio wave propagation characteristics have significant meaning . This article discussed the extremely low frequency electromagnetic waves corresponding communication theory . Briefly retell the work of their predecessors , given a vertical electric dipole in the earth and ionosphere are ideal isotropic , vertical magnetic dipole and horizontal electric dipole generated electromagnetic field expression derivation . Ultra-low frequency band of extremely low frequency (SLF-ELF) electromagnetic wave frequency is very low , under the influence of Earth's magnetic field , ionosphere the SLF-ELF wave will reflect the anisotropic characteristics . Article further theoretical analysis of the anisotropic characteristics of the ionosphere on the reflective properties of the ionosphere under the influence of the Earth's magnetic field and the impedance matrix . The innovation of this paper is that the original ground - isotropic ionosphere waveguide model improvements for the land affected by the Earth's magnetic field - anisotropic ionosphere model .
