Abstract:
This paper describes an optical fiber array imaging laser radar, which uses optical fiber array instead of photodetector array in a conventional imaging laser radar. The fiber array produces a high pixels panel in front of the receiving system, the back-end pigtails of the fiber array connect separate single-point-photodetectors, while taking advantage of the flexibility of the fiber. This design not only guarantees that the imaging rate of the radar system does not reduce, also cleverly avoids the problem of the production of large-scale photodetector arrays. And by using the fiber array pre-scan window, it can reduce the quantity requirements of photodetectors. Therefore, the optical array imaging laser radar is a radar system with high imaging rate and low detector requirements.The article reviews the research background of optical fiber array imaging laser radar, benefits of the lidar system, and the development in the world. Then, the paper presents the design of optical array imaging laser radar system, describes the system works, Also, it analyzes several devices in the system, including fiber choice, fiber array design, and focuses on the impact of Transmission efficiency caused by the focusing lens used in optical fiber array receiving system. And finally I get the optimal solution formula of the parameter F of focusing lens.Then, the paper completes the theoretical research on the transmission efficiency and ranging accuracy of the optical array imaging laser radar. Starting with the radar equation of traditional laser radar, the distribution formula of transmission efficiency is derived taking into account the factors of fiber-specific loss to the fiber end reflection and optical fiber transmission. Further, it introduces the Gaussian pulse signal in time-domain, analyzes the accuracy of radar ranging, and the paper deduces the distribution of range accuracy based on the threshold method, using the transmission efficiency formula which has been derived. In order to obtain the same precision error of the optical fiber array, a variable threshold method is used to discuss the radar accuracy, and distribution of the variable threshold is given. After that, discussion of the imaging aberrations of the optical fiber array imaging laser radar is completed, there are two kinds of distortion including distortion of the area of field view corresponded to fiber aperture and distortion of the field of view orientation. Then, the radar imaging distortion is devired.there comes the relation formula of distortion from the fiber array to the equidistant target surf ace. Through the amendments to the fiber coordinate location, the imaging distortion of the radar is eliminated with principle and formula of the radar distortion. The distortion and correction of fiber array imaging laser radar is simulated, and the existence of radar imaging distortion is verified.The article also shows a laboratory9¡Á9optical fiber array imaging laser radar platform, each device of the experiment is described, including lasers, detectors, lenses, and optical fiber array. Then three experiments of the fiber array imaging laser radar is introduced. In the measure experiment of the numerical aperture of the optical fiber array, the numerical aperture of the fiber array is determined to be0.52. In the measure experiment of the transmission efficiency of the optical fiber array, The distribution of transmission efficiency of the fiber array is given. In the range image experiment of the fiber array imaging laser radar, the Distance image in the laboratory is achieved, the range resolution of The radar is0.15m, distance measuring error is0.04m.
