Abstract:
Photonic Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) is novel of laser velocimety system. It is widely used in the velocity measurement of the shock wave, detonation wave and short-time high-velocity moving objects.The previous PDV system only for velocity measurement, and can¡¯t measure the velocity and distance at the same time, therefor, this paper propose a PDV system based on modulated light source on the basis of PDV that can achieve the measurement of velocity and distance at the same time, and improve the precision of velocity measurement. First, the structure and principles of the system is described in detail and the corresponding theoretical derivation and simulation. On this basis, designed a protective circuit work for the laser modulator, and completed building the whole PDV system based on modulated light source. Finally, experiments were carried out on the PDV system based on the modulated light source, the experimental phenomena and the simulation results are completely consistent, successfully implement the distance measurement.
