Abstract:
LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber, referred LVL) has a lightweight, high strength, stable mechanical properties, sizes and flexible features, is a high performance, eco-friendly new building composite materials. In recent years, the rapid development of laminated veneer lumber. Modification of the fast-growing use of artificial trees veneer, manufacturing strength, texture, appearance enhancement laminated veneer lumber, is not only effective use of our forest resources, but also improves the fast-growing value-added wood products. This paper is on Poplar and predecessors LVL concluded on the basis of research, combined with the actual situation on Poplar Poplar wood veneer enhancements to manufacture laminated veneer lumber, and its physical properties and mechanical strength conducted a series of studies. Study is based on poplar wood as the main raw material, water-soluble low molecular weight urea-formaldehyde resins, water-soluble low molecular weight phenolic resin impregnation process, to prepare strengthen Poplar LVL. In preparing Poplar LVL strengthening process, discussed the best impregnation process and by discussing the vacuum time, the resin solid content, the immersion temperature, the immersion time four variables atmospheric factors and material properties to establish the relationship between technology factor to find the optimum preparation parameters. According to the production equipment conditions and end-use products, final performance requirements, the proposed production of urea-formaldehyde resin impregnation process parameters: vacuum time of 30min, a resin solids content of 30%, the immersion temperature is 30-35 ¡æ, pressure impregnation time was 3h ; phenolic resin impregnation process parameters as follows: vacuum time of 30min, impregnating the solid content of 25%, the immersion temperature is 35-40 ¡æ, pressure immersion time is 9h. Through improved test methods, test results showed that the physical and mechanical parts and other properties, can meet the structural laminated veneer lumber E1 standard phenolic resin reinforced poplar LVL reach indoor and outdoor decorative wooden structure requirements, urea-formaldehyde resin reinforced Poplar LVL reached with decorative wood interior non-structural requirements. In addition, by infrared spectroscopy and found impregnated reinforced poplar LVL with FTIR and IR spectra of the resin difference is not large, compared to the synthesis of the resin, the resin can know only mechanical filling in the poplar. By electron microscopy and found that phenolic resin impregnated poplar LVL impregnation is better than a good urea-formaldehyde resin, the resin when immersed in poplar veneer, mainly from the cell gap submerged wood interior, followed by cell wall enter the timber; catheter through the lateral penetration observed tracheid cell performance than a lot worse.
