With the growth of modern shipbuilding mode, Some developed shipyard have established block construction various process lanes based on cutting center, sub-assembly workshop, planar center, curved center, superstructure center and block assembly platforms. This mode can improve productivity greatly, but material-flow management turns to be more difficult, and then block building process should be disassembled in details during production design. Based on analyzing of hull block building work under modern shipbuilding mode, with application of coding technology, considering advanced design software and hull piece characteristics, this paper focus on following items:Project number, block number, assembly coding, piece kind, piece number and piece bending kind are studied. Project number¡¯s function is extended, block number is much compact, assembly number is much consistent, piece kind is simplified, piece number can be much freely defined and piece bending kind is much definitely.Assembly kind, coding levels and coding integrality are studied to scientize and detailed disassembly, control coding levels and improve coding integrality.
