With the CNC system of universal and miniaturization , the numerical control system as the core digital signal processor (DSP) and field programmable gate array (FPGA) is becoming an important direction of development of the CNC system . On the one hand , in order to the DSP as CNC system core processor , able to play the high-speed computing and flexible programming expertise , to facilitate the realization of complex real-time motion control algorithm to improve the control performance of the system ; On the other hand , the use of the FPGA to a large number of logic control the function and the peripheral interface circuit integrated therein , can be effectively reduced system volume, to improve the reliability and stability of the CNC system . This article , based on a comparative study of numerical control system on different hardware platforms , design and development of a DSP and FPGA as main control unit of the four-axis closed loop CNC system platform . First , on the basis of the needs analysis , planning and design of the CNC system hardware solution , the implementation of DSP and FPGA peripheral circuits , digital pulse output circuit , the output circuit of the analog encoder signal acquisition circuit , general-purpose I / O interface circuit discussed in detail , and to complete the design of the system hardware . To improve the numerical control system hardware integration and reliability in the FPGA to achieve high-speed S-shaped acceleration and deceleration smooth motion control programming of FPGA design , hardware fine interpolation , spindle speed control DAC interface , encoder signal processing circuit , the hand pulse signal processing circuit , digital I / O signal processing circuit and dual-port RAM function module , debug , test and passed . Finally , based on the hardware platform , modular design methods and C language programming CNC system software design , including the DSP-side motion control module test procedures and the human-machine interface microcontroller control software , and complete the main functions of the system hardware and software FBI .
