The systems of machine vision have the features of non-contact,real-time,on-line measurement and high accuracy; they have been developed fastly and used widely in recent yeats. In this thesis we introduce the definition, history of machine vision simply. Then the machine vision tecnique and its status in China and aboard are also introduced. It is pointed out that the meaning of application, correlative field and the technology of this machine vision system in the thesis.It is in detail discussed that how to choose suitable hardware and how to design the correct algorithms to achieve the requirements of speed and precsion, with application experiences. The system hardware mainly includes illumination, camera, lens, frame, grabberetc. And the image processing arthmetic mainly includes filtering, image threshold segmentation, edge detection, ect.In the research, the system captures real-time images based on the SDK, and saves the image data into buffers which are created by the system. The important and primary parts are got using the programs which are designed to process and analyze the image data in the buffers, and the parts are classified according to the colors,area circumference ect, and are detected according to the height and the radius of the circle with image database.Using VC++ 6.0 as the development platform, the system combines the common methods of processing and analyzing image. The designed machine vision system meets the requirements of the system through the experimental verification. It instead of traditional sensors in the automated teaching experiment platform designed by Festo company. So it can identify and detect parts non-contactly and real-timely. It lays a foundation for the dangerous situation in industry.
