Abstract:
A new concept of Reconfigurable Manufacturing System (RMS) has been conceived to meet the rapid changes and high uncertainties in a dynamic manufacturing environment. But as an important subsystem of manufacturing system, reconfigurable fixture system (RFS) is merely studied, the low reconfigurability of fixture system becomes a key factor that restricted the development of RMS. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:(1) An in-depth review was presented on the development and research status of reconfigurable fixture system over domestic and international scope, the parent system and subsystem of reconfigurable fixture system was built according to systematic theory, and the main method to achieve reconfigurability summarized.(2) An innovative method was introduced to finish fixture reconfiguration during system operation period, using multi-functional components, on-line manufacturing and on-line assembly technology. A multi-functional components library was built based on cylinder class, bar class and disk class components.(3) Combined with multi-functional components, serials of reconfigurable fixtures were designed to clamp universality workpiece with different shapes and dimensions in actual industrial environment, as the working principle and mechanical characteristics were analysed, and mechanics curves were generated by Matlab.(4) With innovation technologies such as TRIZ and Combination Deducation, a systematic methodology was established according to reconfigurable fixture examples, which may guide the design process against current fragmente fixture design method based on intuition.At last, the content and direction of further research on reconfigurable fixture were analyzed and prospected.
