Abstract:
Nowadays, as the civil engineering become more and more diversified, complicated and large scaled, geotechnical engineering is highly required. Soil mechanics has won a obvious improvement over the past couple of years, but it is not very satisfied in solving the practical engineering problems because many theories of soil mechanics are based on the theory of continuous mechanics. It is necessary to consider porous medium characterization of the soil and to carry out the relevant research. Besides, because of the complexity of the soil, the shear strength parameter selection and earth pressure calculation method appear diversity. And hidden security trouble and economic loss will be caused if these were ignored. It is very urgent to find the relationship between the index value of shearing strength and to study the inner link of the earth pressure calculation based on the characteristics of the soil. This dissertation discuss three different shear strength parameters of soil as follows: UU, CU, CD. The relationship among these three parameters has been explored through considering physical properties of soil. It provides reference when choosing shear strength parameters of soil in real project.Based on the physical porosity, a new principle of effective stress is proposed and the Biot consolidation equation considering porosity is deduced. These new formulas fit the reality well.Based on the physical property, permeability coefficient, this dissertation puts forward a new method of earth pressure calculation, which is more rational and useful. These researches of mechanical property on the basis of the soil¡¯s physical property are topics of high theoretical interest and also of great relevance to applications.
