Abstract:
Industry waste such as steel slag¡¢blast furnace slag and fly ash is industrial by-products, and recycling of them and environmental protection have been a concern of people. With the development and application of concrete technology, it has become a trend that the industry waste is used for compound mineral admixture in concrete to achieve high performance concrete. The industry waste as the mineral admixture of concrete not only reduce the amount of cement in concrete, cut down the cost of concrete, but also utilize the industry waste, turning waste into treasure, decreasing the environment pollution. But it is more important that it can improve concrete property effectively in certain aspects such as high strength, long durability, low hydration heat, etc.This paper analyzed chemical composition, mineral composition, hydration reaction and the effect on the concrete of steel slag, blast furnace slag and fly ash to determine the main factors affecting their activity and the reasons improving the concrete performance.This paper also studied the workability and mechanical properties of concrete which was configured by single-doped steel slag, blast furnace slag, fly ash or compound using two or three kinds of mineral mixture at the same time. And there are several conclusions as follow.(1) The fluidity of the concrete increases and its workability is significantly improved, when it is mixed with steel slag, blast furnace slag or fly ash. And the best one is that mixed with fly ash.(2) Although the early strength of concrete is reduced, but the growth rate of the final strength has been significantly improved and final strength is significantly higher than ordinary concrete, when it is mixed with steel slag, blast furnace slag or fly ash.(3) The compound mineral admixture has good adaptability. When we use two or three kinds of mineral mixture at the same time, the compound effects is especially prominent. When admixtures have the appropriate substitution and proportion, concrete can be produced with the compound mineral admixtures that have better strength and excellent workability.
