Abstract:
Energy demand is increasing as a result of society and economic development. Thesmart gird as another revolution in electric power industrial, is an integrated solutionreplying to the global energy, environment, clime, economy and sustainable development, and it represents the direction of the future power grid research and development. In the traditional power grid, the participation of consumers is low, and there is nostandard system for end-users management and interactive service. One of features of thesmart grid is friendly interaction. Through Advance Metering Infrastructure, Home AreaNetwork, bi-direction communication, and long distance control technique to achieve thesmart demand side management, incent consumers to participate in the safe and efficientoperation of the power grid, and achieve the optimal allocation of electricity generationand consumption resource. In most studies of energy demand side management, the only incentive is electricityprice to reshape the load. The centre of the smart grid is consumer, for it is the consumersreceive the ultimate benefits. Hence, the acceptance of the adjustment of appliances¡¯working time and mode must be considered. In this paper, an Operational Comfortable Level (OCL) model is presented toquantify this acceptance and tries to assess the impacts of changing the use of time ormode of appliances. An optimal Min-Max load management algorithm is proposed to cutdown the peak demand for the purpose of flatting the shape of load curve to increase thesafety and efficiency of the power grid. Results show that the proposed models andalgorithms can predict and manage the load quite well, and the energy consumption isminimized meanwhile keep the maximum OCL of consumers.
